Calculation of photovoltaic line loss

Example: 5.2kWp system, 260W module, working voltage 30.6V, 20 pieces per string. Copper wire resistivity is 1.70E-08, photovoltaic cable 4mm², length 160m.

Line loss calculation is:
Resistance R=ρ*L/S=1.70E-08*160/4.0E-06=0.68Ohm
Current I=P/U=5200/(30.6*20)=8.5A
Voltage drop Vd=R*I=0.68*8.5=5.78V
Line loss=Vd%=5.78/612=0.94%

The calculation of line loss here includes the addition of phase line and neutral line loss values ​​(phase line and neutral line loss values ​​are equal).

So the total line loss is: 2*0.94%=1.98%

电压降Vd=R*I=0.68*8.5=5.78V
线损=Vd%=5.78/612=0.94%

这里计算线损时是包括相线和零线线损值相加(相线和零线线损值是相等的)。

所以总线损为:2*0.94%=1.98%
满足设计要求的2%以内
